Crickett DayViews: 78

If we could all pass this around, who knows the difference we could make in someone’s life?? Please read the following email I recieved from a friend:

Hi Everyone – For those of you that have never received this PLEASE read on! If you have been getting these e-mails you know what to do – Do your self Breast Exam and pass it on!

I thought it was appropriate to expand my list this month because it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! I have added lots of people to my “Crickett Day” list and they are probably thinking what in the world is this! Please read the following and it will explain everything!

June of 2006, a friend of mine, Crickett Julius, was diagnosed with breast cancer. As she was tested further, it was discovered that she had a very aggressive form of cancer. The Doctor told her that the minute her tumor was formed, it began spreading. Not only did she have breast cancer, it was also in her liver. Crickett died four months after her diagnosis, but fought a strong battle every step of the way.

She knew her prognosis was not good, and made it known to her friends that she wanted to continue to make a difference in peoples lives. One friend started Crickett Day! She asked Crickett to pick a number between 1 and 30. Crickett chose 18. So on the 18th of each month (or close to it) an e-mail goes out reminding women to do a self breast exam. Those who receive the e-mail are encouraged to forward it on to their friends and family. Since the conception of Crickett Day July of 2006, 7 women detected lumps in their breasts. 4 were fine and 3 were able to receive early treatment and are fine today. These women said they never did self breast exams until they began receiving their Crickett Day reminders. I truly feel that Crickett is continuing to make a BIG difference in others lives!

So, now that you have received your Crickett Day reminder, Do your self Breast Exam and pass the message on! You never know who could benefit!

Thank you for always being there and always saying just the right thing to calm me down. I appreciate you so much.

Sonia

Hey Kelly; Thanks for this reminder. You are right, most of us wait for the Dr. to do this and why shouldn’t we be doing this every month or every week while in the shower. It only takes a minute. Here’s to Jimminie Cricket Day and let’s hope there are none in this family.
